West Highland Way Charity Walk
01/09/2009
On June 13th Laura McHutchison (Quality Manager) walked The West Highland Way with 3 of her friends for Cancer Research and Teenage Cancer. The West Highland Way is Scotland’s first official long distance route. The Way links Milngavie to Fort William – a distance of 152km (95 miles) - from the outskirts of Scotland’s largest city to the foot of its highest mountain, following the shores of its largest freshwater loch. It passes from the lowlands, across the Highland Boundary Fault and on into the Scottish Highlands.
Laura and her friends have so far raised over £4,000 for the chosen charities, if anyone would like to contribute further to these 2 great causes Laura has a website on http://www.justgiving.com/laurannemch which will be open until November 2009.
Laura says "it really was an amazing experience, and one which she will never forget. The hard work, blisters, missing toe nails (yes... missing toe nails), leg ache and back ache is being far out weighed by her sense of achievement.
